Dear friends,

The Mother and Child National Research Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center), following the principles of scientific validity, consistency, continuity and resource mobilization, has been working on the most important tasks aimed at stabilizing the medical-demographic situation in the country.

The Center provides specialized medical care, including high-tech care, and undertakes effective organizational, technological and innovative activities aimed at strengthening the reproductive health and the health of mother and child.

When implementing the measures to maintain and enhance the health of mother and child the Center relies on the principles of:

legality, accessibility and respect for citizens' constitutional rights to health and medical care;

focus on the priority activity areas;

combining clinical research capabilities and the most efficient health practices in critical motherhood and childhood technologies to make the research in this field uniquely relevant to, and resonant with, our policy objectives.

enhancing qualifications of specialists to secure high medical results.

In order to address the most important issues in healthcare the Mother and Child National Research Center fulfills the following tasks:

observes the Law on Healthcare of the Republic of Belarus, follows the instructions of the President of the Republic of Belarus and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus, orders and resolutions of the Healthcare Ministry of the Republic of Belarus, and carries out the measures stipulated in the state maternal and child health programs; 

undertakes organizational and methodical efforts to improve the pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology services;

improves standards of care in hospitals;

enhances the efficiency of using the hospital stock;

implements the state healthcare policy;

introduces effective medical technologies in diagnostics and treatment of reproductive system disorders.  

develops medical protocols to treat newborns with low and extremely low birth weight;

maintains the system of continuing medical education, including on-the-job professional training and retraining;

conducts practice-oriented research having high medical and economic relevance aimed at honing the skills of practitioners;

runs public awareness campaigns to promote a healthy lifestyle with a focus on the main risk factors;

implements a set of measures to revive humanity and empathy as the basic principles of the medical profession;

pursues an efficient personnel policy and offers incentives to reduce personnel turnover;

trains highly-qualified scientific staff in such fields as obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and medical genetics.
